Harmony Comfort Food
My Process
At the beginning of the project, we were asked what makes us different, what makes us stand out. It was actually phrased as “what’s your freak?” Well, my freak is I grew up bringing Korean food to school and many of my classmates thought it was weird. Jokes on them, my food was the best.
That’s where the idea of Harmony Comfort Food came in. The Korean word for Grandma is 할머니 (halmeoni), and while my pronunciation somewhat resembles ‘harmony,’ the feeling of my Grandma’s cooking perfectly captures it.
I love that Korean chains are getting popular, but they don’t have the vibe of a home-cooked meal from Grandma. Harmony Comfort is a brand that doesn’t just want to fill you up with some of the best food around, it wants you to feel at home. It’s the feeling of waking up sick, skipping school and being taken care of…mainly that last part, you won’t actually feel sick here.
